Super reduced sales tax on new homes is extended

Spain has topped a list of popular flight destinations for Brits, accounting for 16.59 per cent of flight searches, which is good news for people with property in Spain they are looking to rent out.
According to figures from Experian Hitwise, popular holiday hotspots within the nation such as Tenerife, Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona, Majorca and Lanzarote all came in the top 50 searched for destinations.

The Intercontinental Mar Menor Resort is taken over by the banks

The five star hotel is part of a group of assets that Polaris has sold to obtain liquidity.
The Intercontinental Mar Menor Golf Resort, which is located in the residential complex of the same name, and owned by Polaris World, has been bought by a group of banks and saving banks. The developer and the banks closed the sale of the group of assets, worth a total of 83 million euros, on 22 April.

House prices rise as property shortage persists

House prices are still being driven up by a relative shortage of properties for sale, says the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics).
Its latest monthly survey, for November, suggests that prices have risen for the fourth month in a row.
The number of surveyors reporting price rises outstripped those reporting falls, with a positive balance of 35%.
Separate government figures showed that UK house prices rose by 2.3% in the three months to October.
