Holiday Apartment Rental in Spain Popular With UK Holiday Makers

November 28, 2006

British holidaymakers continue to bolster Costa Blanca and Costa Calida tourism. Figures released this week show that holiday apartment bookings have soared thanks to UK visitors. Latest figures published by the Spanish hoteliers association (Hosbec) show that holiday flats reached almost 92 per cent occupation last month, six points more that in August – the traditional peak month. Figures show that bookings from the UK represented 75.5 per cent of the total figure, consolidating the British market as the major customer base for the Costa Blanca and Costa Calida during the autumn and winter months and brushing away fears of a crisis in the sector. Experts say UK holidaymakers now prefer hotel apartments and low-cost flights to Spain, as opposed to package deals. Freedom of movement, meals and times are the main advantages pointed out by customers.
