The Spanish Economy - High Growth And Low Inflation
November 16, 2006
Inflation in Spain fell to its lowest point since March 2004, according to figures released on Wednesday. Spanish consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in October from September and were up 2.5 percent year-on-year. The fall in annual inflation from 2.8pc the month before was due mainly to a decrease in energy prices. In related news, the Spanish economy grew 3.8 percent year on year - according to the latest figures released on Tuesday. Government sources said it was "excellent news". Spain now ranks as one of the most attractive countries in Europe for those seeking a low cost of living, low interest rates and general ecomonic stability.
