Spanish town votes to end running of the bulls

Paterna in Valencia will not have any bullruns as part of its fiestas this year after the results of a poll were revealed yesterday in which 68% of the respondents were against the idea. The poll was opened on November 2nd and closed on New Year's Eve. It was open to all the inhabitants of the town, whose population is estimated to be 61,000, but only 8,305 chose to participate, with 5,659 against, 2554 in favour and 92 undecided.
