Rainfall Welcomed In Alicante & Murcia Provinces of Spain

Alicante Province saw an average rainfall of 30 litres per square metre on Tuesday 7th November 2006. The water was welcomed by all in the region. Farmers can celebrate not only the watering of their crops but the fact that 21 cubic hectometres can now be transferred to Alicante and Murcia from other regions. The rainfall is expected to fill resevoirs in the area and provide sufficient water for the coming year. According to authorities, this has all but removed the threat of water restrictions in the Alicante and Murcia regions of Spain.
