Fall in foreign tourists visiting the Canary Islands, Spain

The region is the only one in Spain where tourist numbers have fallen for the year to October
The Canary Islands have lost 240,500 foreign tourists so far this year according to the latest figures.
The numbers from the Ministry for Industry, Trade and Tourism indicate the islands as being the only region of Spain where tourist numbers are down; other areas area all showing a slight growth.
Between January and October there were 7 million visiting foreigners on the Canaries.
The Councillor for Tourism on Gran Canaria, Roberto Moreno, said that the numbers he had for October showed a 1.2% growth in numbers.
Nationally numbers were 1.9% higher at 52.7 million international tourists.
