Better construction standards for Spanish properties
November 27, 2007
The Spanish government has introduced new regulations to increase the sound insulation of all new buildings in Spain from 2009.
Developers now have a 12 month grace period, in which adopting the new standards is voluntary.
When this period runs out the new standards will be mandatory, and are expected to increase build costs by between 0.33% and 0.75%.
The days of "paper thin" walls in cheaper Spanish homes are hopefully over.
