Plans to buy water in Benissa, Costa Blanca, Spain

Political parties in Benissa have asked the ruling PP council to study the possibility of purchasing desalinated water from Jávea with the aim of guaranteeing drinking water supplies to the town.

Socialist spokesman Vicent Cabrera said that despite the fact that water resources are in good shape at the moment it would be prudent to secure the use of desalinated water to safeguard future usage.

He added that in his opinion the sea provides a limitless supply of water and that it was there where future resources have to be obtained.
