Construction growth in Murcia, Spain

So far this year, the construction sector has grown by 6% in the Region of Murcia.

The average price per square metre in the Region of Murcia reached 1.660 Euros

At least, that is the figure estimated by the latest study of the construction sector situation performed by the Intituto de Estudios of the Fundacion Cajamar.

However, this growth has reduced in intensity in comparison to previous years. With regard to the residential sector, the study indicates that a lower number of new homes have been started than in 2006, with a reduccion of 0.8%.

This reduction was the key factor that has resulted in a reduced level of growth in comparison to previous quarters.

With regard to the price of land, the study confirms that this reached 1660 Euros per square metre for freehold properties during the period of the study. This figure places the Region of Murcia below the national average, which stands at 1.993,90 Euros per square metre.
