Natural Park Planned For Benijófar, Costa Blanca, Spain

An ambitious project to turn a large area of land in Benijófar into a park that could attract visitors from around the province has been unveiled by the town hall.

The 120,000-square-metre Parque Municipal Cañada Marsá will be constructed along the shallow ravine which lies between the centre of the village and Benimar urbanisation.

It will include five sensory gardens, lakes, native Mediterranean trees and plants, an open-air theatre, a sports circuit, cycle paths, a recreational and pigeon-flying area, an exercise area for the elderly and a café.

Facilities in the park will run on solar energy.
