Town Halls in Spain Increase Public Spending

The town halls in the Alicante province of Spain spent 118 million € in January and February alone – 450% more than for the same months last year.

There is a rush on to complete as many municipal projects as possible ahead of the Spanish local elections at the end of May 2007.

The increase in private construction so far this year was up 5.7% compared to last.
